Abstract
975,063. Extruding; working at specified temperature. SOC. DE ACIERIES DE POMPEY. April 10, 1962 [April 13, 1961], No. 13775/62. Headings B3P and B3V. A steel workpiece for use in a deformation process such as extrusion performed at a temperature of 700-1300‹ C., is coated by immersion with aluminium or aluminium alloy which provides a layer of Al-Fe alloy comprising 17-30% A1. The workpiece is coated by immersion at 600-800‹ C. in a bath of hot aluminium or an alloy of aluminium and at least one of the substances, iron, silicon, zinc, manganese, copper, vanadium, boron, magnesium, calcium. Alternatively a mixture of aluminium and alumina-alloy may be used. A preliminary coating of zinc or tin may be applied to the steel workpiece.
