Abstract

972,046. Casting composite articles. METALLGESELLSCHAFT A.G. July 30, 1963 [Aug. 4, 1962], No. 30198/63. Heading B3F. In a method of casting light metal on to a body of sintered Al or Al alloy powder, a metallic or ceramic interlayer is first applied to the body. The light metal may be pressure cast and the interlayer may be iron or Al 2 O 3 applied by spraying, or be provided by electrically roughening the surface with a nickel electrode.
