752,395. Joint-making packing. COMPAGNIE PARISIENNE D'OUTILLAGE A AIR COMPRIME. May 10, 1954 [June 2, 1953, No. 13572/54. Class 122(3) [Also in Group XXVIII] A pipe coupling for the mating ends of two pipes 1, 2 of equal bore comprises an annular gasket 9 of resilient, yielding material, such as rubber, having an inner diameter substantially the same as the bore of the pipes and reinforced by a rigid member 14 having axial holes 15 formed therethrough in which the gasket material penetrates. The reinforcing ring is preferably of similar shape to the gasket which may be circular, oval, elliptical or polygonal. The gasket is clamped between a flange 8 and a spigot 3 welded to the pipes 1 and 2 respectively and radially located by a socket 6 threaded on the pipe 1.
