Abstract

742,359. Tool-holders. WESSON MULTICUT CO. Oct. 15, 1952 [Dec. 6, 1951], No. 9860/54. Divided out of 742,311. Class 83 (3). The tool-holder described in Specification 742,311, is provided, according to the invention, with a backing member 13 which enables small ends of tool bits 12 to be utilized. The backing member is of corresponding cross-section to the bit and after adjustment is clamped simultaneously with the bit by the side-gripping plates described in the above Specification. The portion 13a of the backing piece which abuts the tool bit may be of reduced cross-section and its other end is rotatably connected with an adjusting screw 14. A set-screw 16 retains the adjusting screw in position and secures a threaded insert 15. Specification 685,901 also is referred to.
