Abstract

A putty-like composition having no odour or a very slight odour comprises rubber dissolved in paraffin oil together with sufficient filler to give the required consistency. The proportion of rubber to oil lies between 1.7 and 33 per cent and the proportion of oil in the composition is preferably 20 per cent. The fillers may be asbestos fibre or talc or whiting or a mixture. In examples, the compositions consist of rubber, paraffin oil, agerite white, stabelite ester, asbestos, stearic acid, zinc oxide, titanium white and whiting. The stabelite ester may be replaced by wood rosin. Specification 572,676 is referred to.
