Abstract

A plastic composition comprises a non-drying oil, consisting of a high boiling point high molecular weight aromatic tacky oil obtained during petroleum refining, and a filler part of which is fibrous. Specified oils are those known under the Registered Trade Marks "Ravolen," "Iranolin," "Tackol" and "Dutrex," whilst asbestos is the fibrous filler and talc the non-fibrous filler. Electrical insulating properties of the product are improved by the inclusion of a stearate, and a pigment may also be present.
