Abstract

The surfaces of articles, used in the chemical and artificial silk industries, which are exposed to the action of solvents consist of polymerization products of chlor-2-butadiene 1,3, which may be vulcanized. Examples of such articles are p centrifugal boxes and bobbins in the artificial silk industry, acid containers and piping and the surfacing may be applied to articles made of metal, hard rubber or compositions of synthetic resin and fibrous material. The articles may also be made from strips of fibrous material impregnated with the above polymerization products and strengthening insertions of metal &c. may be used.ALSO:The surfaces of articles used in the chemical and artificial silk industries which are exposed to the action of solvents consist of polymerization products of chlor-2-butadiene 1,3, which may be vulcanized. Examples of such articles are acid containers, and piping and the surfacing may be applied to articles made of metal, hard rubber or compositions of synthetic resin and fibrous material.ALSO:The surfaces of articles such as centrifugal boxes and bobbins used in the artificial silk industry which are exposed to the action of solvents consist of polymerization products of chlor-2-butadiene 1,3, which may be vulcanized. The surfacing may be applied to articles made of metal, hard rubber, or compositions of synthetic resin and fibrous material. The articles may also be made from strips of fibrous material impregnated with the above polymerization products, and strengthening insertions of metal, &c., may be used.
