[Class 22] [Also in Group III] A plastic composition for protecting or jointing wood or metal parts consists of wool fat, or a solution thereof in a solvent, to which is added a natural or synthetic hard wax, such as beeswax, carnauba wax, or high melting paraffin wax, whereby the final dry coating is hardened. The final composition contains up'to 50 per cent of wax. Up to 1/3 of the wool fat may be replaced by petroleum jelly. Pigments, extenders, and water-repellant substances such as magnesium or barium stearate, or triphenyl phosphate may be added. In an example, a plastic'composition consists of wool fat, wax, and zinc oxide, or barium stearate. Solvents such as white spirit, solvent naphtha, or chlorinated hydrocarbons may be added. The composition may be used in molten condition for wood work, or applied to metal parts before riveting.
