Abstract

558,872. Solid fueL PROMEDICO PRODUCTS, Ltd., and NEUMANN, S. Sept. 29, 1942, No. 13683. [Class 50] A solid fuel, conveniently provided in tablet form, is made from hexamethylenetetramine paraformaldehyde or metaldehyde alone or mixed impregnated with a wax. The wax may be melted and the other constituent added, or a tablet made of the. metaldehyde or other constituent with or without the wax and coated with a layer of the molten wax by dipping. The solid fuel may contain from 1 to 20 per cent of the wax but 5 per cent is found to yield the best results. Suitable waxes are paraffin wax, ceresine wax, montan wax, beeswax, carnauba wax, or palm kernel wax. Alternatively, the fuel may be made by pressing together the constituents in flake form. Colouring agents, perfumes and the like may be added. Specifications 572,765 and 578,331 are referred to.
