[Class 95]' [Also in Group IV] A fluid coating composition containing, in solution in petroleum naphtha, rubber, and wax and/or resin, is characterized in that each gallon of solvent contains 2 to 6 ozs. of rubber, and 2 ozs. of paraffin wax or 16 ozs. of resin to "balance" 2 ozs. of the rubber. The composition may be "overbalanced" in rubber or in resin to the extent of not more than 200 per cent., when the coatings are applied to certain materials. The resin ' employed may be a synthetic resin or an ester gum, and the following. specified additional ingredients may be incorporated :-barytes, zinc oxide, iron oxide, metallic powders such as aluminium, copper, and bronze powder, oil-soluble dyes, and another mineral wax, preferably of high melting point.
