515,604. Paints; incorporating paint ingredients. ERICSSON TELEPHONES; Ltd., BROOKES, A., and WARD, S. H. D. June 21, 1938, Nos. 18369, and 21235. (Class 95] A preparation for use in or as a paint is made by dispersing lithage or commercial red lead in a medium comprising a metallic stearate dissolved in a liquid compatible with paints or vehicles for paints, e.g. turpentine, white spirit and varnish maker's naphtha. Zinc and aluminium stearates are specified. The stearate may be dissolved in the solvent to give a gel. Small amounts of drying-oil may be incorporated. In example I, 5 parts of aluminium stearate are dissolved in 95 parts of white spirit to form a gel and the pigment ground in. In example II raw linseed oil is also added.
