Abstract

The plasticity of deproteinized rubber is decreased by admixture with cyclized rubber in amount up to 50 per cent of the mixture. The mixture may be compounded with zinc oxide, stearic acid, lauric acid, zinc dimethyl dithiocarbamate, mercaptobenzothiazole, di-b -naphthyl-p-phenylene-diamine and sulphur and vulcanized at 300 DEG F. for 1 to 10 minutes. The mixture may be used for wire or cable insulation &c.
