An adhesive synthetic rubber insulating tape for repairing the cured natural or synthetic rubber covering of an electric cable consists of a solid interpolymer having a major proportion of an iso-olefine and a minor proportion of a diolefine (e.g. Butyl rubber). Formula B.Parts by weight .Butyl Rubber.40.0 .Zinc Oxide.2.0 .Stearic Acid.1.5 .Clay.43.75 .Mineral Oil Plasticizer.2.0 .Carbon Black.4.0 .Paraffin.2.0 .H.C.
