Abstract

An ebonite is made from a mixture of natural rubber and neoprene, the proportion of neoprene being less than 40 per cent of the natural rubber. The term natural rubber includes guttapercha and balata. In an example, a mix comprises 75 parts of raw rubber, 15 of neoprene, 3/4 -1\ba1/2 of zinc oxide, 3/4 -1\ba1/2 of plasticizer and 41 of sulphur.
