Abstract

A plastic product comprises a polymerization product of chloroprene and the product of the reaction of 1 to 3 molar proportions of ethylene chloride with one molar proportion of an aromatic compound of the formula R-C4H6-R1, where R and R1 represent hydrogen or a saturated aliphatic radical containing more than one atom of carbon. The said reaction is described in Specifications 407,948; and 415,953, [Group IV]. Among the substances which may be added to the plastic product are factice, rosin, pine tar, sulphur, magnesium oxide, zinc oxide, phenyl beta-naphthylamine, whiting, red oxide and carbon. The proportions of the two essential constituents may vary between 100-8 and 5-100 respectively.
