Abstract
An inorganic filler for synthetic rubber such as polyisoprene consists of a mixture of at least 30 per cent by weight of hydrous mica, the remainder being a known inorganic filler, e.g. china clay or carbon black. The hydrous mica preferably has a particle size of less than 1 micron. Specification 732,699 is referred to.ALSO:An inorganic filler for natural and synthetic rubber comprises a mixture of at least 30 per cent by weight of hydrous mica, the remainder being a known inorganic filler. In an example the mix comprises 25 per cent by volume of natural rubber, 25 per cent of carbon black and 25 per cent of the above filler. The hydrous mica preferably has a particle size of less than 1 micron. Specification 732,699 is referred to.
