1347704 Combustion-resistant rubber compositions PNEUMATIQUES CAOUTCHOUC MFR ET PLASTIQUES KLEBERCOLOMBES 20 April 1971 [30 April 1970] 10269/71 Headings C3P and C3Q A combustion-resistant rubber composition comprises a rubber, a reinforcing agent, a product giving off chlorine at the combustion temperature and a mixture of borate of lime, zinc borate and iron oxide, said mixture representing at least 10% by weight of the rubber and said iron oxide representing at least 5% of the rubber. In examples the rubber is SBR or natural rubber, the product giving off chlorine is a chlorinated plasticizer, e.g. chlorinated paraffin, the reinforcing agent is carbon and the composition also contains a filler, e.g. silica.
