Abstract

1334719 Scrap rubber compositions UNION CARBIDE CORP 13 Sept 1971 [14 Sept 1970] 42519/71 Headings C3P and C3Q A rubber moulding composition comprises uncured rubber and vulcanized scrap rubber in the form of particles passing through 0-208 mm. screen openings and constituting from 1 to 50% weight of the total amount of uncured rubber and vulcanized scrap rubber. The scrap rubber particles may be produced by the process disclosed in Specification 1,334,718. In the examples scrap rubber particles of specified sizes are blended with a tire tread formulation comprising SBR rubber and carbon black, the resulting blends being vulcanized.
