Abstract
663,807. Rubber compositions. RUBBERSTICHTING. Oct. 19, 1949 [Dec. 11, 1948], No. 26823/49. Class 70 Rubber having considerable stiffness is obtained by mixing an aqueous dispersion of rubber with an aqueous dispersion of cyclized rubber and then separating the solid constituents from the dispersion or using the dispersion for the direct manufacture of articles. The dispersion of cyclized rubber may be obtained either by cyclizing a dispersion of natural rubber as in Specification 658,520 or by redispersing solid cyclized rubber. In examples, varying proportions of a cyclized rubber latex are added to a rubber latex, both having a rubber content of 60 per cent, and the resulting mixture compounded either with zinc oxide, zinc diethyl dithiocarbamate and sulphur or with zinc oxide, magnesium oxide, benzthiazoldisulphide, diphenyl guanidene, aldol - alpha - naphthylamine stearin, and sulphur. Specification 571,494 also is referred to.
