735,067. Cylinders. KREIDLER, A. Nov. 3, 1952 [Dec. 3, 1951]. No. 27575/52. Class 7(2). In a two-stroke air-cooled engine, the initial dimensional overlap of a grey cast-iron liner 3 and a light metal cylinder 1, prior to pressfitting the liner into the cylinder, varies axially of the cylinder and is greater in the region of exhaust ports 8 than in the region of inlet ports 7. The overlap is indicated in exaggerated form by the spacing of the chain-dotted lines from the cylinder bore and may decrease axially downwards of the cylinder at a uniform or a smoothly or irregularly varying rate and may change abruptly in amount at a given point or points.
