446,620. Four-stroke-cycle engines; lubricating passages. ROSSI, U., 8, Haapaniemenkatu, Kuopio, Finland. Sept. 13, 1935, No. 25471. [Class 7 (ii)] Air compressed in the crank - case 7 is added to combustible mixture induced in the ordinary way on the suction stroke. It first enters the cylin. der by a piston-con. trolled port 11 at the beginning of the exhaust stroke at the end of which it is returnec to the crank-case for further compression through a mech anically - actuatec valve in the cylinder head and transfer passage in the cylinder block. It is further compressed and re-enters the cylinder at the end of the suction stroke. Lubricating passages.-Pressure is transmitted from the crank-casing through a non-return valve 20 to an underlying oil-tank thereby forcing oil through a vertical duct to the bearings.
