Abstract

729,012. Sand-blast. PANGBORN CORPORATION. July 31, 1953 [Sept. 23, 1952], No. 21262/53. Class 60. [Also in Group XXII] A centrifugal blasting apparatus comprises a runner head 12 carrying blades 14, reinforced by ribs 15 and held in place by pins 18. A feed cage 20 is positioned at the centre of the runner head and has a central aperture 30 and a feed slot 32. Within the cage is mounted an impeller 34 having vanes 36 and connected to the runner head by a bolt 40 to rotate therewith. The interior of the impeller is hollow and is supplied with blastant particles of for example metal or sand, through a spout 42. The feed cage and impeller are chill cast (see Group XXII).
