728,858. Agricultural implements. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. Jan. 29, 1953, [Feb. 25, 1952], No. 2625/53. Class 6 (1). A combined hydraulic draft and depth control for a tractor mounted plough comprises a hydraulic cylinder 25 connected by lines 34, 35 to a valve body 36 to which is connected a pressure line 37 leading from a pump 38 and an exhaust line 39 connected to a reservoir 40. A spring urged valve 43 is movable in the body 36 and is actuated for depth control by a sleeve 50 to which is pivoted a lever 56 movable bv a hand lever 55, the other end of the link being connected by a link 62, lever 63 and link 64 to an extension on the piston 26. Movement of the handle 55 into any selected position maintains the plough at a corresponding depth. For controlling the implement draft an upper link 20 is provided with a rod 21 which is urged to the left (as seen in the drawing) by a spring 23 contained within a housing 22 and bearing against a disc 21a on the rod 21. An increase of draft rotates the plough frame compressing the spring 23 and moving the rod 21 to the right as seen in the drawing. The rod is attached to a bellcrank lever 70 to which is attached a pin 51 which extends through the tube 50 and controls the valve. The bell crank lever 70 is adjusted by a handle 75 which has the effect of changing the main position of the rod 51 relative to the valve element 43. The depth of working of the plough is determined by the setting of the control handle 55, and a constant draft determined by the setting of the draft control handle 76 is maintained.
