Abstract
595,740. Tractor-carried agricultural implements. ABBEY, A. (Aktiebolaget Overums Bruk.). June 19, 1945, No. 15646. [Class 6 (i)] [Also in Group XXIX] A plough frame is pivotally mounted on a tractor by means of parallel links 4 and 7. The link 4 is connected by means of links 10 and 11 to a fluid-actuated piston 8 controlled by a valve 12 operated by a lever 15 the position of which is varied by a cam 18. The lever 15 is pivotally connected to a rod 17 connected to a rocker 20. A skid 21, mounted on a lever 22 trails on the ground under the pressure of spring 32 which operates on rod 17 and the rocker 20, the levers 22, 23 being connected to the rocker by means of a sleeve 25 and rods 28, 29. When the cam is turned in an anti-clockwise direction the valve 12 is moved to the right and the cylinder 8 is put in communication with a pressure conduit 13 so that the plough frame is raised. During this operation the lever 22, 23 automatically adapts itself to the decreasing working depth and the pivot point 16 and the valve 12 is moved to the left until the cylinder is shut off, with the result that movement ceases. By turning the cam 18 in the opposite direction the valve 12 is moved to the left whereby the cylinder is put in communication with a return conduit 14 causing the plough frame to be lowered. A handle 38 varies the relative positions of the levers 22, 23 and varies the depth of the tool for a given setting of the cam 18 by moving the pivot point 16 and so altering the position of balance of valve 12 without moving the cam 18.
