Abstract

550,142. Implements for working land. FERGUSON, H. G. July 4, 1941, No. 8453. [Class 6 (i)] In a tractor 1 with an agricultura implement attached by links 3, 4, and adapted to be raised and lowered by a power unit in accordance with variations in the draught, overload release means being provided for placing the power unit out of operation upon excess draught on the. implement, thus allowing slipping of the tractor wheels, as described in Specification 470,087, means are provided for maintaining the power unit out of operation during the decrease of draught consequent on the wheel slipping, thus preventing shuddering of the tractor. A pivoted lever 11, Fig. 2, operating a valve 8 controlling the oil supply and discharge ports of the cylinder 6 of the power unit is rotated about its pivot 12 by a hand lever 17 through an eccentrich 15 to raise or lower the implement and through a compression spring 24 on an extension of a link 3 to maintain the implement at the predetermined depth, abnormal compression of the spring acting to release the power unit as described in Specification 470,087. The lever 11 is provided with delay action mechanism or with a spring-held pivoted lever 26 carrying a latch 29 which, upon excessive draught; maintains the levers in a position to open the oil release port of the power unit until the latch is released by the operation of the hand lever 17 to raise the implement.
