Abstract
A tractor having a power-operated unit for lifting and controlling an agricultural implement attached to it is provided with means for putting that unit out of effective operation when the pull on the implement becomes excessive. The particular arrangement of tractor, agricultural implement, and control apparatus described is the same as that described in Specification 470,069. Excessive movement of the rod 25, Fig. 1 of Specification 470,069, due to excessive draught on the implement 4 will be communicated to the valve 14 and will move it right back until the ports 23 are uncovered and allow the oil to escape from the ram cylinder and put the fluid-pressure power device out of action. The tractor will then be relieved of the weight of the implement. The safety valve 32 may be opened by an excess of movement of the rod 27. An electric, mechanically-operated, or other power device may be put out of operation by excessive movement of the spring 29 and lever 26. Specification 253,566, [Class 6 (i)], also is referred to.
