541,436. Implements for working land. RANSOMES, SIMS & JEFFERIES, Ltd., and CHALLACOMBE, A. Aug. 9,1940, No. 12819. [Class 6 (i)] A tractor plough of the kind in which the plough bodies 1 are pivoted to the tractor by parallel motion links 2, 3, has a wheel or skid 23 running or sliding in the track of the tractor wheel in the furrow and mounted on a lever 24 pivoted to the tractor, and the lever is so connected by a rod 25 to the power unit adapted to raise and lower the plough that angular movements of the lever due to pitching and tossing of the tractor causes compensating or equalizing movements of the plough bodies retaining them at a set position on an even keel. The rod 25 is connected by links and levers, including a hand lever 22, to the rod of the slide valve controlling the supply of pressure fluid to the power unit. A hand-operated pawl on the lever 22 is withdrawn from a notch in a link 27 when the plough is to be raised or lowered and the valve rod is moved directly by the hand lever. As the linkwork is drawn forward, an extension 20 on a link 2 contacts with a stop or roller 21 on the tractor and the links then move in the manner of lazytongs, the plough being raised by their extension.
