632,884. Agricultural implements. ZBROJOVKA BRNO, NARODNI PODNIK. Oct. 24, 1947, No. 28438. Convention date, Nov. 4, 1946. [Class 6(i)] [Also in Group XXIX] An automatic depth control for the hydraulic lifting mechanism of a tractor comprises a subsidiary cylinder 23 responsive to the pressure in the main cylinder 10 and acting on a distributer 16 for the working fluid in such a way that changes in pressure in the main cylinder automatically effect lifting or lowering of the implement. The implement 1 is connected by a triangulated linkage 2, 3, 4 to upper and lower arms 5 and 6 pivoted to the tractor. The piston of the main cylinder 10 is attached to the arm 6. A conduit 11 connects the cylinder to a distributer 16 having a rotary valve 15 communicating with ports 13 and 14 leading to a pump and reservoir respectively. The valve rotated by a rack 18 and pinion 17 from a system of levers 19, 20, 28, 29 pivoted to a hand lever 35, and, at 21, to an arm 22 fixed to the arm 6. The lever 28 is pivoted at 27 to the piston 24 of a subsidiary cylinder 23 connected to the main cylinder 1Q. Manual movement of the lever 35 to the right moves the lever 20 about the pivot 21 and, by rotating the valve, puts the conduit 11 into communication with the reservoir. The implement then falls until the consequent movement of the pivot 21 rotates the valve in the opposite direction. Changes in working resistance are transmitted as increased or decreased pressure in the main cylinder and this effects movement of the spring-loaded piston 24 in the subsidiary cylinder 23. The pivot 27 is thereby moved to rotate the valve 15 in the appropriate direction.
