Abstract
602,291. Agricultural implements. FERGUSON, Inc., H. Nov. 8, 1945, No. 29869. Convention date, Nov. 23, 1944. [Class 6(i)] In a control means for tractor mounted implements of the type in which the implements are connected to a tractor by upper compression links 13 and lower tension links 11 and are capable of being operated by a hydraulic or like unit on the tractor comprising a pump 26 and pressure actuable motor 23, a pressure fluid device such as a piston 33 and cylinder 34 is associated with the upper or lower links and has a fluid connection 35 with the pressure actuable motor 23 on the tractor, said device being capable of allowing extension or contraction of the length of the associated link means from normal to cause the implement 18 to rock on a heel 36 changing the angle of penetration and thereby tending to maintain the plough at its predetermined depth, the fluid in the system accordingly remaining under pressure. In a modification, the fluid device may be fitted on the lower link 11 which is connected to a crank pivoted on the differential housing; the other end of the crank being connected to a piston and cylinder mounted adjacent to the main lift piston and cylinder and interconnected so that fluid can flow from one to the other.
