[Also in Group XIII] An arrangement for preheating combustion air supplied to the burner 14 of a furnace comprises an air-heating recuperator 31 heated by flue gases, air induction jet 37 which draws air through the recuperator and delivers it to the burner and a heat-exchanger 40 in which. air supplied from a compressor 41 is heated before being led to the jet 37. The recuperator 31 is of the refractory tile type disclosed in 'Specification 182,075, [Class 51 (i)], and the heat-exchanger,40 is of the type which comprises metal tubes.
