Class 126 [Also in Group XIII] A fireplace insertion arrangement in which air is heated in a space 2 behind a back plate 1 is characterized in that the fireplace is covered at the top by a fixed metallic smoke hood 15 in the flat top 18 of which there is mounted an adjustable damper 20 covered by a cast-iron dome 26 whichis provided with a smoke outlet socket 27 and is rotatably supported by the hood and is surrounded by a circulation air space within the top of the fireplace. The air to be heated enters the space 2 under the ash drawer and escapes at the top on both sides at 3, 4. The back plate 1 is formed with side portions 6, 7 prolonged by built wall portions 10, 11, and a central portion 8, the upper part 9 of which is inclined forwardly (Fig. 3) and provided with a flange 22 for supporting a rear extension 23 of the top 18 of the hood 15. The dome 26 is circular in plan and is located on the hood top 18 by a circular flange 25 upstanding therefrom.
