591,177. Domestic firegrates. ALFORD, F. April 30, 1945, No. 10845. [Class 126] A domestic firegrate p is mounted in an opentop ash container forming a movable unit provided with means for lifting. The ash container has a pivoting U-shaped handle c and a sloping back f which provides a support g for the rear edge of the firegrate. The firegrate may be pivotally mounted about its front edge e. The ash-container front comprises an ash guard h, pivoting about its lower edge, and an adjustable mask plate l which controls the air flow to the grate.
