777,880. Baffles; dampers. WOOLLISCROFT, & SON, Ltd., G., and DAVEN, PORT, G. March 12, 1956 [March 10, 1955], No. 6998/55. Class 126 Supports built into the slabbed concrete backing of a fireplace surround carry a baffle plate to protect the back and head of the surround from excessive heat. The baffle plate 16 is secured to lug 15 embedded in the concrete backing of the surround, and carries lugs 18 supporting a pivoted damper plate 20. A lever 25 pivoted to an arm 23 depending from the baffle plate engages notches in a profile 22 on the underside of the damper 20. Sockets 27 enable the lever 25 and damper 20 to be adjusted by a poker or other tool.
