Abstract

719,176. Sheet-delivery apparatus. BABST, O. Oct. 14, 1952 [March 28, 1952], No. 25720/52. Class 100 (1). Delivery apparatus for offset printing machines, having depositing grippers which are connected to chains that are led over chain wheels and run round the axis of the offset cylinder is characterized in that the chain wheels carrying the grippers are mounted on the frame of the machine independently of the offset cylinder. As shown, sheets are fed between an impression cylinder 6 and offset cylinder 7 against a front stop 4 by a sucker 2 and rollers 3. The sheets are grasped by.gripper devices 12 carried on chains 13 and operated by cam devices 22. The chains 13 run around chain wheels 14, 15, the axis 18 of the wheel 14 being mounted eccentrically with respect to the axis 19 of the offset cylinder 7. The arrangement is such that the grippers enter the gap 20 in the offset cylinder at the point of contact between that cylinder and the plate cylinder 8. The chains 13 are put under spring tension in the known manner.
