Abstract

718,929. Water-cooling towers. MARLEY CO., Inc. Oct. 1, 1952, No. 24575/52. Class 64(1) Air is forced by a fan 20 horizontally through packing assemblies 29, 27 each having its own upper water receiving tray 23, 24 and lower sump 15, 17. The air is forced through an inclined spray eliminator 24 and deflected upwardly through a stack 32. Cooled water from the sump 15 remote from the air inlet 18 is recirculated by a pump 38 to the tray 24 for passage through the packing assembly 29 nearer to the air inlet, and is thus further cooled. A plurality of towers as above may be radially disposed round the outside of the base of a conventional concrete tower. Specification 711,303 is referred to.
