Abstract
811,379. Liquid-raising apparatus. STICHTING REACTOR CENTRUM NEDERLAND. July 19, 1956 [July 23, 1955], No. 22448/56. Class 102(2). A liquid-raising apparatus comprises a plurality of risers 1 located by plates 4, 5 in a vertical cylindrical casing 6 having a bottom liquid inlet 2, a compressed gas inlet 16 leading to a space 15 common to all the risers 1 and to individual nozzles 10 thereof, and an outlet 3 for the gas-liquid mixture discharged from the heads of the risers 1. Each riser may also have an upper compressed gas nozzle 23 intermittently supplied from a common space 28 and inlet 29. Cooling or heating liquid is circulated through the casing by ducts 7, 8. In a modification the upwardly discharged mixture impinges on the underside of a baffle which deflects the liquid downwardly into a discharge pipe whilst the gas separated from the mixture continues to ascend.
