Class 146(3) A drawing or writing nozzle for insertion into a reservoir pen comprises a cylindrical member 1 having an axial bore 14, two or more convergent flat surfaces sloping toward the writing end, and a plurality of longitudinal slits extending from the writing end to connect with the axial bore. As shown, three surfaces 4, 5, 6, Fig. 6, converge at different angles towards a triangular flat surface 2, while slits 7, 8, 9 parallel to the edges of the surface 2 connect with the bore 14. The edges of the surface 2 provide writing surfaces of different length, these edges projecting longitudinally beyond the outer edges of the slits 7, 8, 9 which also constitute writing surfaces. The nozzle, which may be of brass or rustless steel, has a portion 13, Fig. 1, screwed into the barrel 16 which includes a hollow piston rod 17, a piston 18, and a preferably rubber packing ring 21. A choke member 24 screws into the bore 14, such that the size of the choke opening may be varied to control the flow of writing liquid.
