Abstract

712,252. Automatic control systems. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. June 26, 1952 [Aug. 29, 19511, No. 20396/51. Class 38(4) To reduce low frequency amplitude modulation of the output voltage of a high frequency inductor alternator A, e.g. due to mechanical eccentricity, a voltage at the low frequency is produced across a suitable reservoir condenser C, of a full wave rectifier supplied from the alternator and including gas-filled rectifier diodes V1, V2. The voltage so developed is applied to a two-valve amplifier V3, V4 the output of which is injected through a transformer T2 into the excitation circuit of the alternator in the appropriate sense to neutralize the modulation. Frequency-selective negative feed-back is applied to the amplifier by a network C5 R6 to reduce amplifier output impedance at the high frequency. A choke may replace transformer T2.
