[Also m Group XXXV] In a pulse generator of the type in which a capacitance C or an artificial line is charged through a rectifier D arid inductance and discharged through a valve S, the inductance comprises either two inductors L1, L2, one of which saturates at a low current value or one inductor, Fig. 3, having an air gap in its core shunted by an iron path having a low saturation value. Thus the initial charging current is low and the voltage across the gas discharge valve S during the charging period immediately following its extinction is reduced.
