Abstract
728,061. Supply systems for consumption apparatus. ELECTRIC CONSTRUCTION CO., Ltd. April 1, 1953 [April 3, 1952], No. 8572/52. Class 38 (4). [Also in Group XL (a)] In a supply system for an electrostatic precipitator in which the discharge electrodes are subjected to an alternating potential of frequency between 25 and 120 cycles per second, preferably 50 cycles per second, superimposed on a unidirectional negative potential of value less than the alternating peak value, the unidirectional potential is obtained by fullwave rectification of the alternating potential. The system comprises two transformers 2, 8, the primary windings of which are connected to the source of alternating potential, the secondary winding of the transformer 9 supplying a fullwave rectifier 10, the output of which is connected in series with the secondary winding of the transformer 8 to the discharge electrodes 12. The transformer 8 is connected to the source of supply through an auto-transformer 3.
