Abstract
The generator has a step up transformer whose primary winding is connected to the mains supply, and means of rectification connected to the output of the transformer. The transformer has at least two secondary windings (9), the rectifying means comprises six bridge rectifiers (13) each connected to the terminals of a secondary winding (9), a smoothing capacitor (14) being connected at the output of each bridge (13). These capacitors are connected in series to earth, protection resistances (15) being inserted between two neighbouring capacitors (14). A transformer (3) varies the supply voltage to the transformer primary winding.
