Abstract

684,226. Electrostatic precipitation. RESEARCH CORPORATION. Sep. 20, 1951 [April 3, 1951], No. 22061/51. Class 39(i) [Also in Group XXXV] The electrodes of two' units for electric precipitation of suspended particles from gases are supplied respectively with the alternate fully rectified cycles, Figs. 4a, 4b, of an alternating current supply, Fig. 4 through a switch 12 which connects the output of a full-wave rectifier 11 alternately to lines A, B whict supply the electrodes of the two units. The rotor of switch 12 con nects contacts 17, 18 in turn to joined con tacts 15. 16 which are supplied by the out put of rectifier 11 which may be a rotary switching device driven by the same synchronous motor 10 as drives switch 12. The rectifier may comprise a bridge of four valves, Fig. 5 (not shown), or two valves the secondary winding of the transformer 13 supplying them being centretapped, Fig. 6 (not shown).
