Abstract

756,938. Condenser arrangements. METROPOLITAN-VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. April 14, 1954 [April 14, 1953], No. 10212/53. Class 38 (4). [Also in Group XL (c)] In a pulse generator circuit of the type in which a storage circuit is charged from a voltage source and discharged through a load, the discharge is effected through two series-connected discharge devices which are triggered sequentially, in this way the possibility of " firing through " of the devices is reduced. The Figure shows a high voltage pulse generator in which a delay line SC is charged from a D.C. supply via choke L2 and rectifier D and is periodically discharged through transformer T1 when ignitrons 11, 12 are triggered so generating a pulse across load Z. The ignitrons are triggered sequentially by selection of their characteristics or by provision of a delay network DL in one trigger circuit so that ignitron I2 connected to the negative line fires first, followed by I1. Network L1, C1 constitutes a filter circuit for the D.C. supply.
