[Also in Group XXXV] In a L.V. capacitor-discharge ignition-system comprising a storage capacitor 19 adapted to be charged from a D.C. source and having a series-connected inductor 25 in its discharge circuit, a triggering spark-gap 26 and a surfacedischarge ignition-plug 28, a rectifier 29 is shunted across the condenser to short circuit the latter at the instant its voltage passes through the first zero after discharge and thus prevent oscillation.
