Abstract
1337699 Ignition systems FABRICA ESPANOLA MAGNETOS S A 7 July 1972 [9 July 1971] 31990/72 Heading F1B [Also in Division H3] A condenser discharge ignition system comprises an auxiliary winding 9 and a diode 6 connected in parallel with the primary winding 8 and the triggering device 5 whereby the rise time of the spark gap device 11 is determined by the relative impedances of the primary winding and the condenser 3 while the arc duration is determined in a first half cycle of the capacitive discharge cycle by the relative impedances of the primary winding and the condenser and in a second half-cycle of the capacitive discharge cycle by the relative impedances of the auxiliary winding and the condenser. In a modification a further diode is connected in parallel with the auxiliary winding.
