712,210. Windscreen cleaners. LUCAS (INDUSTRIES), Ltd., J. Jan. 22, 1953 [Jan. 23, 1952], No. 1855/52. Class'138 (1) An oscillatory wiper arm of the kind which is adapted at one end for attachment to the wiper blade and at the other end for attachment to a cap securable to the actuating spindle comprises a metal strip which is bent at one end to effect a hook-like engagement with a fulcrum on the cap and a relatively short spring strip which is fixedly or adjustably attached at one end to the first strip and which at its other end is adapted to be supported by an abutment on the cap, which spring serves to hold the blade in contact with the windscreen. The metal strip arm a is connected at its outer end to the wiper blade b whilst its inner end is bent over or looped, as at c, to fulcrum on a pin g fitted between forks f extending outwardly from the cap d secured to the wiper shaft e. Riveted at j, or slidably secured by a clip or otherwise to the strip a, is one end of the spring strip i, the other end of which acts against a pin h (or a roller k thereon) also fitted between the forks f. The wiper arm can be moved relatively to the cap d to the position shown in dotted lines.
