Abstract

645,983. Windscreen-cleaners. TRICO PRODUCTS CORPORATION. Aug. 13, 1948, No. 21451. Convention date, Sept. 19,1947. [Class 138(i)] A windscreen wiper blade mounting comprises a channelled member having longitudinally extending pintles struck from the material of the channelled member and extending in relatively opposite directions, and a clip adapted to be attached to an actuating arm and having end walls formed with bearings for receiving the pintles. A channelled member 27. Fig. 2, is firmly secured to the metal wiper blade backing 25 by a rivet 28. Pintles 22 are struck from the back wall 29 of the member 27 and are freely received in bearings 21 formed in the end walls 14 of a clip 11 made by a die stamping operation. The wiper arm 3 is held interlocked with the clip by means of a flat spring 12 formed with end projections 19 which engage in openings 20 in the end walls 14. A normalizing spring 30 having oppositely extending lateral parts 31 bears upon the back wall 29 of the channelled member in such a manner as normally to urge the wiper blade to an upright position on the windscreen. Rocking movement of the blade during the wiping operation is limited, as shown at 24, Fig. 3, by the side walls 13 of the clip engaging ears 23 stamped from the back wall 29 and extending laterally in opposite directions therefrom. The ears and the pintles may be struck from the metal backing 25 of the blade 26. Specification 632,953 is referred to.
