Abstract

709,950. Spindle mounting-setting of. SCRAGG & SONS, Ltd.. E., and FINDLOW, E. Sept. 22, 1952 [Sept. 22, 1951]. No. 22231/51. Class 120(2) [Also in Group XXV] Means for effecting adjustment of spindle mountings on textile machines comprises a washer adapted to be interposed between a bracket carrying the mounting and the machine frame on a bolt securing said bracket to the frame, the washer having three protuberances or bosses spaced apart and projecting from both its surfaces, one protuberance or boss being thicker than either of the other two so that rotation of the washer will effect angular displacement of the spindle mounting and hence permit the spindle to be readily adjusted to its correct position in relation to its driving means. As shown the washer 4 is made octagonal and has three domed bosses or protuberances 5 arranged at equal intervals and on both surfaces of the washer. One of the bosses (the top one in the drawings) is thicker than either of the others, which are of equal thickness. In use the washer is positioned, on a bolt 9, between the machine frame 8 and a bracket 6 holding ihe spindle post 7.
