Abstract

1,100,152. Two for one twisting &c. apparatus. JAMES MACKIE & SONS Ltd. 18 Nov., 1964 [16 Oct., 1963; 14 Oct., 1963], Nos. 40886/63 and 40500/63. Heading DID. In a multi-spindle two-for-one twisting &c. machine, each package is substantially horizontal and is mounted at one end only on a carrier bracket, and means are provided to hold each bracket during normal operation, in such an angular position that the free end of each package faces outwardly from the machine frame. With each package disposed so that it faces outwardly, a magnet 28 is arranged in the bracket 26 so that it is opposite another magnet 30 on the frame to prevent the frame rotating. Either magnet maybe replaced by a ferrous metal armature.
