Abstract

709,105. Lampholders. STUDHOLME, J., and BENJAMIN ELECTRIC, Ltd. Oct. 12, 1951, [Aug. 11, 1950.] No. 20015/50. Class 38(1). A screw-threaded metal lampholder 10 has slots cut in its wall to form a rectangular resilient tongue ioa (or tongues) which is given a slight inward bias. A circumferential wire spring 14 is placed in an external thread of the socket, the portion 14a of the spring being given an inward bend. On insertion of the lamp cap the tongue will be forced out against the spring 14, thus causing the lamp to be held firmly. Alternatively, the two ends of a wire spring may be bent inwards to bear on the tongue.
